Also needs a tailgate.

seems less useful than stock. It does look like a pretty clean job though.

Yeah, mine has a big trunk and I would never want that pickup unless it provided a large practical advantage. Thats why it needs another 2-3 feet added to the bed.

Thoughts in my head: XJ chopped right behind the rear doors with a Comanche bed grafted on..... Might be too long. Guess I won't know until I try.

My head's thoughts:
1. Chop behind the rear doors
2. Instead of putting in a Comanche bed, level out what used to be the back seats with the trunk and make that the bed.
3. Leave the rear doors for shits and giggles.
4. Create a chevy avalanche style Jeep

This! Use the back of the Comanche cab for your closeout, then use the back of a longbed Comanche to stretch it a little. A little fender trimming and some bigger tires would help it look less awkward methinks

this has much win.

ive never seen a bobbed grand Cherokee, I see 4runners done like that a lot, but never the grand Cherokee. Its exceptionally well done too. A cargo net tailgate would help, and an exo cage wouldn't look out of place, at least tube doors.

I love the Avalanche and I love the Jeep brand more. I see no problem here.
